We welcome Carlos López Solarat and Adam Hetherington to the team!
This week we welcomed two new starts to the team!
Carlos López Solarat joins the team on a Spanish Fellowship. Having completed his PhD at the University of Vigo, ES on molecular mechanisms and the phenotypic diversity associated with Bardet-Biedl syndrome, he moved from Galicia to join our group to focus on the study of centrosomal proteins and their role in metabolic health in collaboration with Prof. Robert Semple. He will be focusin particularly on intriguing rare ‘centrosomopathy’ syndromes such as Alström syndrome, SOFT syndrome and MOPD2.
Adam Hetherington joins us a Senior Research Technician through the LifeArc Center for Rare Respiratory Diseases. With an MSci from the University of Dundee and research expertise in developmental biology working extensively with human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and various 2D & 3D differentiation protocols. He looks to bring in iPSC expertise to the Centre to develop robust, scalable and physiologically relevant protocols for the production of lung-lineage disease models from patient-derived and patient-modeled iPSCs.
